Women’s Premier League final: Hasaacas Ladies, Ampem Darkoa Ladies to rekindle old flames today

Premier League holders Hasaacas Ladies will face off with rivals Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the final of the 2021/22 Women’s Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium today.

The sworn rivals who battled for the title last season have an opportunity to win their first silverware of the season Saturday.

It’s been a very eventful season in the Ghana Women’s Premier League, a campaign that saw both Northern and Southern zones have two additional clubs each and provided all the excitement for football lovers in the country.

After several weeks of nerve-racking battles on the turf in both the Northern and Southern zones, the two giants emerged winners of their respective zones.

Champions, Hasaacas Ladies head into the encounter with an invincible record of playing throughout the season without defeat.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies who lost three times in their campaign this season will hope to revenge last year’s defeat to the ‘Doooo’ Ladies.

Hasaacas Ladies beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies 4-0 in last season’s final – a result the ‘Nanamma’ will hope to overturn in their quest for a third Premier League crown.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies boats of Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah – a player who has discovered her scoring boots for both club and country. The Black Princesses forward scored 12 goals to finish second in the top scorers’ chart.

Success Ameyaa has been absolutely brilliant for the team putting in some delightful displays that resulted in their zonal triumph.

The winner of this encounter will represent Ghana at next season’s TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Women’s Premier League final is scheduled for 3:00 pm kick off at the Accra Sports stadium on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
