AshantiGold head coach Thomas Duah has confirmed that talks are going on smoothly to sign Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed.
Speaking on the expected transfer of Yahaya Mohammed, Coach Thomas Duah said talks are far advanced to beef their firepower ahead of their Confederation Cup campaign.
“We all know the exploits of Yahaya Mohammed in Ghana football but we haven’t concluded the deal yet. Talks are going on smoothly”, the Ashanti Gold SC coach said in an interview with Light FM.
PrimeNews reported earlier that The Miners are seeking to secure the services of Yahaya Mohammed who was in an unstoppable form in the truncated 2019/20 Ghana Premier League registering 11 goals in 15 matches.
On the preparations for the next football season, Coach Thomas Duah says his outlet is waiting for the government to lift the ban on football in order to begin training.
“We are camping and waiting for the approval from the government and FA to begin training towards our Africa campaign. All the players have been thoroughly tested”, the coach added.
Meanwhile, the club have beefed up their team with new additions ahead of the competition. They have signed 2016 MTN FA Cup best player Yaw Anorl from Bechem United and 2016/17 Ghana Premier League top scorer Hans Kwofie has rejoined the club.
Also, the contracts of Appiah Maccarthy and Richard Osei Agyemang have been extended.
