The Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah says his Ministry is implementing some of the recommendations by the Dzamefe Commission of enquiry that was set up by the NDC government to investigate Ghana’s 2014 World Cup fiasco.
The Minister and his outfit have been bashed by several football loving fans for not abiding by certain recommendations that were brought forth by the commission but in a media interaction held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in Accra, Isaac Asiamah said they are applying some of the recommendations.
In a meet the press section at the Flagstaff House earlier this year, the President Akufo-Addo admitted that he had forgotten about the White paper and said the Sports Minister would be dealing with it.
“Per the White Paper, there are recommendations that were accepted fully, some were accepted with modifications and others were rejected outright,”
“What we are implementing are the ones that were accepted by the previous government,” Isaac Asiamah disclosed in a media interaction on Thursday.
The Media also asked the Minister what he intends to do to individuals who the commission pointed out as people who had to face certain actions.
The Minister said since it was a legal issue they are waiting for the court to do justice to these individuals.
“There are some people indicted in the White Paper and according to the law, they have six months to contest the claims in court. Until the court takes a decision, I cannot venture into those areas. The rule of law prevails in this country and we need to respect the laws,” he added.

The Dzamefe Commission was set up after Ghana’s exit from the 2014 World Cup to find reasons for the poor performance.
