The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has cracked the whip on an AWCON-bound referee Lydia Nantabo Wanyama and other two match officials.

The three are the center referee Ronald Kirangwa and his two assistants Samuel Kakembo and Lydia Nantabo Wanyama.

The move comes on the back of a poor performance in the match where the referees allowed Tito Okello’s 83rd-minute equaliser for Vipers to stand despite the striker standing in a clear offside position.

The 1st assistant Kakembo has been banned from performing any refereeing services for a period of five years.

The center referee, Kirangwa, has been banned for three years while the second assistant Lydia Nantabo will serve a two-month ban.

Nantanbo was among the sixteen assistant referees who were shortlisted and attended a pre-tournament course for the upcoming Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.

The two-month ban means she cannot be considered for the AWCON that starts next week.

The three have also been summoned to the FUFA Committee for Match Integrity for further investigation and decision.
