Sheffield keep Man United top 4 hopes alive after hammering Chelsea

Sheffield United beat Chelsea 3 -0 in an English Premier League game on July 11, 2020.

Sheffield who were the underdogs going into the game started wth real purpose and inent.

They took the lead just 18 minutes into the game through David McGoldrick when Kepa could not catch a deflected shot.

Chelsea thought it was offside but after some checks with VAR the goal stood.

A stunned Chelsea team were then expected to attack more but their build up play was slow.

A frustrated Frank Lampard stood at the touch line and shouted at his players.

The high pressing football by Sheffield saw them get a second.

Oliver McBurnie rose highest in the 18 yard box to head home a superb cross.

They led 2-0 at half time and were now in total control of the game.

Chelsea coach Lampard threw on five substitutes in the second half but it was Sheffield that scored another goal to make it 3-0.

David McGoldrick also got onto the end of a corner and sealed a momerable victory.

The defeat means that Chelsea lead Manchester United just two points with the latter yet to play their game.
