Ghanaian international Richmond Boakye Yiadom has announced his departure from Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade following the expiration of his contract.
Speaking in an interview, the goal poacher was grateful to the club and his teammates for the role they have played in his career. He added that is was a difficult decision to part ways with the club with whom he has achieved much success.
“It is not easy to leave this team, because the love before it is very great. It’s like being at home here, and leaving the club with which you started creating something that will stay forever, surely hits right in the heart. But football and my life have to move on. It was not easy, but with God’s help, I managed to collect so many games and score many goals. Without my teammates, I would not have succeeded and I am very happy to have become a part of the history of this club.”
The Black Stars forward hasn’t had his usual form this season due to series of injuries but managed to get involved in five goals; two goals, three assists in eight outings.
