In what will be a repeat of the 2014 UEFA Champions League final, Real Madrid will meet city rivals, Atletico Madrid in this year’s final at the San Siro on May 28 after beating Manchester City to qualify for 14th Champions League final.
The 10-time winners needed a win against City at the Bernabeu to advance after their goaless draw at the Etihad in the first leg.
In what could be described as a not so entertaining match, Madrid got the only goal in the 19th minute after deflection on Fernandinho looped Bale’s cross over City keeper Joe Hart into the top corner.
Sergio Ramos put he ball in the City net in the 36th minute but it was disallowed for after Pepe was adjudged to have been offside before connecting to the free kick.
City had earlier in the 9th minute been forced to replaced bring on Eliaquim Mangala for Captain, Vincent Kompany who had hurt himself while making a clearance.
