Hearts of Oak’s Public Relations Officer Kwame Opare Addo has indicated that the recruitment exercise being done by the club is based on the recommendations of head coach Edward Nii Odoom.
The Phobians is one of the many clubs who have been busy augmenting their squad despite the Ghana Premier League being on break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hearts of Oak have recruited five players to help them mount a strong challenge when the league is safe to resume.
The players include two midfielders Abdourahamane Mamane Lawali and Eric Dizan from Niger and Ivory Coast respectively, two strikers Abednego Tetteh and Nigerian Ademola Kuti and defender Nuru Sulley.
Nonetheless there were rumours that some of the signed players were purchase without the consent of coach Nii Odoom.
But the club’s PRO has moved swiftly to quashed the rumours .
“Every player signed by the team is not from my recommendation likewise the recommendation by any staff member but rather it is the coach who recommends players.
According to Opare Addo, the coach has been defending every player he request for.
“The coach has to defend the signing of every player as to the reason for his inclusion. Depending on what the player is able to offer and per the coach’s statistics, submission and what the club also wants to achieve will make us agree on signing a particular player”, the Communications Director for the Rainbow club told Fox FM.
