Chelsea have unveiled their new Nike home kit for the 2020/21 season.
The Blues took to Twitter to announce their smart new kit that “brings a touch of Savile Row to Stamford Bridge.”
Announcing the new kit Chelsea tweeted: “Introducing our new @nikefootball 20/21 home kit, and shirt partner @ThreeUK!
“The herringbone-knit pattern is inspired by the traditional craft of London tailoring.
“Available 09.07.20
“#ItsAChelseaThing #ThePrideOfLondon”.
Chelsea fans will be able to buy the kit from next Thursday (July 9) with the simple blue design featuring a huge ‘3’ on the front related to their sponsors.
This kit is the club’s first partnership with mobile network Three as their new principal shirt sponsor.
The club describe it as a “traditional blue elevated by a subtle all-over herringbone knit and garnished with bespoke flourishes.”
Chelsea’s blue shirt will be accompanied by blue shorts and white socks with the herringbone pattern on both jersey and shorts.
The jersey is framed by a deep, dark blue collar and trim on the sleeves while the trim is monogrammed with ‘CFC’.
The new kit also features dark blue tape running down the sides of the torso and is embossed with the phrase, ‘The Pride of London’.
“The kit is really, really smart – very Chelsea,” said Tammy Abraham.
“You can see the story behind the kit with how it looks and all the little touches that remind you of a good suit.
“I think we will certainly be the best dressed team next season.”
Chelsea FC Women will also be wearing the new strip next season with striker Fran Kirby a huge fan.
“Winning the WSL was an incredible moment for the club and we’ll be proud to be wearing the new kit as champions next season.”
Chelsea will debut their kit tonight (Wednesday, July 1) in their Premier League match against West Ham.
