The Black Stars of Ghana have touched down in Rabat ahead of their friendly on Tuesday.
Ghana have lined up two International friendly matches against Morocco and Ivory Coast this month.
The Black Stars will take on the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Tuesday, June 8, in Rabat, before hosting the Elephants of Ivory Coast on Saturday, June 12, at the Cape Coast stadium.
However, the team travelled to the North African country without Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.
According to multiple reports, he was sacked by Ghana head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor after reporting late for training.
The report adds that Partey refused to join the Black Stars’ training sessions in Cape Coast but he only showed up to join the team when they were about to fly to Rabat.
The report further adds, he told head Akonnor that he had issues but failed to discuss the issues with the head coach.
It is known if he would be allowed for later join the team for game against Ivory Coast on Saturday.
The friendly matches will serve as a test the team ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that gets underway in September.
Meanwhile, Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif (Hon.) and Deputy Minster designate Evans Opoku Bobie (Hon.) called on the senior national team – Black Stars at their camp in Cape Coast before their departure
The visit was to wish the team well ahead of this month’s friendly matches and also to assure the team of governments continues support going into the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
