Mubarak Wakaso has retracted the comments made on Angel TV that partisan politics, which is the NPP and NDC has been reason for Black Stars struggle.
The midfielder in the said interview blamed the two biggest political parties in Ghana NPP and NDC for the Black Stars struggling to win a title since 1982.
He said: ”I will speak the truth today. Do you know our problem about the game?
”Maybe we know but we don’t want to say it. But I think politics ruins the Blacks Stars at times. When NDC is in power, NPP doesn’t want us to win and vice versa.”
His comments was backed by former Youth and Sports Minister under NDC administration, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye.
However, he has apologised to Ghanaians and two political parties.
Ghana has not won any major trophy since 1982 in Libya.
The team however, came close in 2010 and 2015.
