Latif Anabila has welcomed the fierce battle for a place in Asante Kotoko’s midfield this season and believes the added competition can only be a good thing for the club.
Kotoko’s stacked midfield options already included the likes of Adom Frimpong, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Mudasiru Salifu and Emmanuel Keyekeh.
However, the former AshantiGold player is relishing the competition for a starting berth in Maxwell Konadu’s side.
“I’m up for the challenge because it is competition that brings out the best in players.”
Anabila also revealed the role Maxwell Konadu played that led him to joining the Porcupines.
“Every player wants to work with a coach that believes in him. The coach spoke to me and made me understand he wants me and for me, that was the main reason”, the former midfielder said in an interview with Fox FM.
“Another factor that influenced my decision was the love of the fans. I felt they really wanted to see me here and that made things easier for me to decide”.
Latif Anabila last week completed a move to Asante Kotoko after ending his stay AshantiGold. The midfielder after months of speculations finally completed a move to the Kumasi-based club.
He has been signed to give the Porcupine Warriors club a major squad boost ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 football season.
Anabila has joined his new teammates in Koforidua as they continue with preparations for the commencement of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko open their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign against Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium.
