Former Asante Kotoko player Kwame Bonsu has won the Tunisian League title with Espérance de Tunis after Sunday’s 1-1 home draw with SC Chebba.
The Ghanaian on Sunday propelled his club to secure their 30th league title on Sunday, becoming the fifth Ghanaian player to win the trophy with the club.
Bonsu played in the first half of the game and was substituted in the second half as he enjoyed his first league success with his new club.
He joins a host of other Ghanaian players who have also tasted success in the Tunisian League, Harrison Afful won the league four times with Espérance, Seidu Salifu won the league in 2014/15 with Club Africain, Moussa Narry and Sadat Bukari. lifted the Tunisian league trophy with Étoile Sportive du Sahel in 2006/07.
Espérance are still unbeaten in the league this season and have a nine point lead plus a healthy goal difference of +23.
