Asante Kotoko General Manager Nana Gyambibi Coker has confirmed that his outfit has renewed its contract with MTN.
It could be recalled that the Porcupines were hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic as MTN suspended all financial obligations to the club with immediate effect.
According to the club, the decision was arrived by MTN after a clause in the sponsorship agreement that allows a suspension of their obligations in the event of a force majeure – in this case, the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Nana Gyambibi Coker has revealed that the telecommunication company have renewed its partnership with Kotoko and will be fulfilling their promise.
“We have been able to renew both contracts. Currently MTN will be paying Kotoko from January to March in fulfilling their promise” he told Light FM.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seen football activities in Ghana grind to a halt with only 15 matches of the first round of Ghana Premier League played.
