Journalist Kobby Stone and Multimedia have rendered an apology to Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President Ben Nunoo Mensah.
This comes after the journalist made defamatory statements against the GOC President.
Mr. Ben Nunoo-Mensah, on March 30 directed his lawyer Stephen Asante Bekoe, Esq. of Afisem Chambers to caution Alexander Kobina Asante to desist from defaming him and apologize accordingly.
In the said letter, it was intimated that several defamatory statements were made on various platforms by Kobby Stone.
“The notice also demanded that Kobby Stone and Multimedia Ltd. apologize accordingly to Nunoo-Mensah on four(4) consecutive days the same way they did on their various platforms and programs making those defamatory statements within seven (7) days upon receipt of the letter”.
As was demanded by Mr. Nunoo Mensah, Kobby Stone has duly responded to the notice and has apologized to the GOC President for the kind of words he used.
He apologized on the same program “fire for fire” live on Adom TV.
He was on the show with his colleague Patrick Osei Agyemang popularly known as “Country Man Songo”. He also added his voice by way of apology to the GOC President.
Kobby Stone mentioned that he did not mean in any way to make such statements to defame Mr. Nunoo Mensah.
Therefore retracting all statements personally directed to the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee.
” We only meant to put the GOC on their toes in a professional way as we always do because of the love we have for sports in Ghana our nation, we ask that Mr. Nunoo Mensah forgive us”.
