Hearts of Oak have been dealt a big blow as their first choice goalkeeper Richard Attah suffered a head injury over the weekend in a friendly.
The shot-stopper picked up injury while keeping the posts for Hearts of Oak in their pre-season friendly against Ebusua Dwarfs ahead of their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League opener.
He had to be substituted after picking up the head injury by Richmond Ayi.
Although further checks after the match have revealed that the injury is not that serious, the goalkeeper will need to take his time before returning to the pitch.
In line with that, he is set to undergo some tests with the hope that he fully recovers in time before the start of the Ghana Premier League season.
Attah remains doubtful for their league opener against Aduana Stars on November 14.
At the end of the friendly match today, Abednego Tetteh scored for Hearts of Oak with Ishmael Antwi restoring parity for Ebusua Dwarfs.
Attah was the first chioce goalkeeper at the Rainbow club in the cancelled season of 2019/20, a campaign he put up some classic displays to earn a call-up to the senior national team of Ghana
Signed from Elmina Sharks in 2019, the highly-rated shot-stopper has established himself as the first choice for the Phobians and expected to maintain that role in the upcoming season.
