Hearts of Oak head coach, Edward Nii Odoom has expressed satisfaction with the condition of his players ahead of the start of preseason which he anticipates should go well.

The gaffer has been working with his players in separate group sessions over the last couple of weeks to keep them in shape during this Covid-19 period and, he said they have surprised him with their level of fitness.

“I am highly impressed with the fitness level of the boys; this tells you that they were not relaxing at home when the 2019/20 season was suspended before its eventual cancellation’’, Coach Odoom told Hearts Media.

“We asked them to stay at home and follow the individual training programmes we desired for them and, I must admit that they have surprised me with their endurance level and I commend them for that.”

“Since I began these sessions with them, I have noticed that their motivation is high and the attitude they have shown proves to me that they are willing and eager to fight for positions when football returns.”

Coach Odoom who has been working with the boys in small sessions over the last couple of weeks as the team prepares for preseason is hopeful that it would go well as he seeks to put together a strong team for next season.

“We are waiting for preseason to start and, the objective is to prepare a very strong squad that would compete on all levels challenging for honours next season.”
