Hasaacas Ladies captain Janet Egyir says her outfit is ‘ready’ for the CAF Women’s Champions League final showdown with South African side Mamelodi Sundowns.
She said this after the Ghanaian champions defeated Morocco’s ASFAR at Al Salam Stadium on Monday.
Goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Evelyn Badu saw the team become the first team to book a spot in the final after a missed penalty by Perpetual Agyekum.
Speaking after the match, Janet Egyir who was named the Woman of the Match following her impressive display revealed that reaching the final is a ‘dream come true’ for the team, but they want to end the tournament on a high by winning the ultimate.
“It feels great to win the woman of the match award. We feel great, this is a dream coming true for us.
“When we missed the penalty, we thought something was wrong with us. But then we pushed through and won”.
“We are looking forward to the final game, whoever they are, we are ready for them”.
The second semi-final saw South African side Mamelodi Sundowns slugged it out with Malabo Kings from Equatorial Guinea. The South Africans needed penalties to overcome their opponents after goalless 120 minutes, beating them 5-4.
Hasaacas Ladies and Mamelodi Sundowns will battle for the prestigious CAF Women’s Champions League trophy on Friday.
