The curtain-raiser to the Afcon 2021 Qualifier between Ghana and Sudan as well as kick-off to the Ghana Premier League season continues to gather momentum.

It was an entertaining exhibition match that provided moments of nostalgia, cheeky and mouthwatering skills, comedy and drama under the banner; “Battle of the Stars” at the Nduom Stadium in Elmina.

At full time,the headlines belonged to Godfred Aduobi who struck a stunning hat trick to ensure that Greater Accra triumphed over their Western/ Central Region opponents by 4 goals to 3.

The match which was telecast LIVE on GTV, Max TV and other partner networks attracted the full 25% seating capacity under new Covid-19 sports protocols for spectators.

GFA President Kurt Okraku, Ghana Tourism CEO Akwasi Agyeman and the Chief of Elmina Nana Kojo Konduah VI were among a tall list of dignitaries who graced the occasion.

Some graduate players from the Germany 2006 World Cup in attendance were Samuel Osei Kufuor, Derek Boateng, Haminu Dramani and Dan Quaye.

From the Starlets 91 generation were the likes of Kofi Nimo, Ben Owu and Yaw Preko.
