The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have fixed the 26th ordinary session of Congress for Thursday, August 27, 2020., a letter from the body to its members has confirmed.
However, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant limitations imposed under the Imposition of Restrictions Act, 2020 (Act 1012) on public gatherings, the meeting cannot be held the usual way, where Congressmen and women gather at a venue for their deliberations and decision making.
Portions of a letter read: “Article 31(2) of the GFA Statutes 2019 states that ‘The Executive Council shall fix the date and venue for a meeting of Congress. The Members shall be notified in writing at least ten (10) days in advance’.
“Please be informed that pursuant to the said provision of the GFA Statutes, the Executive Council at it’s meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, has fixed Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 9 o’clock in the afternoon as the date and time for the 26th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association.”
The letter adds that In compliance with Article 31 of the GFA Statutes 2019, members of the GFA will be sent the formal convocation of Congress in writing accordingly.
