Ghanaian female athlete Martha Bissah has revealed that the Ghana Athletics Association will need good leadership to get back to it’s Glory days .
Bissah who is the only Ghanaian athlete to win a gold medal for Ghana at an Olympic games,was suspended indefinitely by the Ghana Athletics Association in 2016 for gross insurbodination .
She won gold at the 2014 your Olympics and was expected to blossom in her career after that golden feat in China
Martha Biassah’s career nearly hit a snag after she was suspended by the GAA .But she was saved by a former GAA chariman George Haldane Luttrodht who secured her a scorlaship for her to learn and continue her career .
She has finally graduated with a bachelor of science in business with emphasis in management at the Norfolk State University in Ohio.
Speaking to Untoldstories TV GH from her base in Ohio, Bissah says poor leadership at the GAA over the years has robbed the nation of successes in Athletics
“I don’t think the leadership has been good enough to send Athletics back to it’s Glory days over the years”
“It seems leadership is a huge problem in our country because we shouldn’t just appointment people to lead ,but rather ensure that those people have qualities to excel and that will have positive effect on the people he rules or lead”
“But what do we see in recent years at the GAA, clearly the Association is weak and something must be done as soon as possible to save Athletics in the country, “Martha Bissah told Untoldstories TV GH
