Four Kotoko players on Legon Cities radar

Legon Cities are seeking for the services of four Asante Kotoko players to beef up their squad as the second round of the transfer want have been opened.

The Royals want to augment their squad for the second round of their 2019/20 Ghana Premier League league following their poor start to the season. They currently lie a place above the relegation zone.

Speaking in a radio interview monitored by Primenews, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang, Communications Director of Legon Cities confirmed that they have contacted a couple of clubs for the services of their players, refusing to disclose the teams and players’ names.

However, General Manager of Asante Kotoko Nana Coker revealed on Kumasi-based Light FM, that Legon Cities have officially written to them for the services of Ampem Dacosta, Kingsley Effah, Evans Owusu and Douglas Owusu Ansah.

Meanwhile, Ghana Premier League club, Legon Cities FC has backed the decision by government to suspend all sporting activities in the country in the wake of coronavirus spread.

The President in an address to the nation on March 15 said all public gatherings including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events, and religious events such as services in churches and mosques have been suspended for the next four weeks.

A call Legon Cities has thrown its weight behind government as the nation put up measures in place to combat the virus.

They tweeted: We respect the decision of Mr President Akufo-Addo and the government. We urge everyone to follow the preventive and control guidelines as provided by the World Health Organisation, including thorough hand washing and avoiding close contact with those who may be affected.
