Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Kofi Abanga expressed his desire to play for Asante Kotoko.
Despite the rivalry between the two Ghana Premier League giants, Abanga has revealed that he is interested in a move to the Kumasi based club.
In an interview with Silver FM, Abanga said he was not considering retiring from football anytime soon and is ready to play for Kotoko.
However, he indicated that he would consider joining Maxwell Konadu’s side if they would be playing him a monthly salary of GH¢ 3000
“I will play for Kotoko if they pay me Gh¢ 3,000 as monthly salary,” Abanga said.
The midfielder signed for the Phobians in one of the fierce transfer battle between the two biggest clubs in the country at the time.
He, however, failed to live up to expectations after inconsistent performances for Hearts. Abanga’s career came to a standstill after he failed to impress then Hearts’ coach Bashir Hayford.
Abanga is still regarded as one of the young footballers to have emerged from the local scene who couldn’t reach the full height of their potential.
It remains to be seen if the Porcupines would be interested in signing him in the future as life patron of the club Otumfuo has placed a year ban on the club’s recruitment.
He believes Kotoko have enough material to compete with.
