Former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Joseph Yamin says there is no need to truncate the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.
Football in the West African country has been suspended for the past 2 months as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.
In the past few weeks, there have been divided opinions as to what should happen to the Ghana Premier League season and the other leagues in the midst of the Covid-19 situation.
But Mr Yamin has given his take as he stresses that the league should be continued.
Speaking in an interview with Space FM, he said, “I don’t see why the league should be cancelled. The league must be played irrespective of the fact that other African countries have cancelled theirs.
“Unless someone convinces me as to why the league should be cancelled”, the former deputy sports minister said.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) continues to do deliberations on the next line of action and will declare the fate of the football season in 2 weeks’ time.
