Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Laryea Kingson claims it will be a huge boost for the Ghana Premier League (GPL) should Black Stars duo Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan return to the top-flight.

The two players have recently been linked to clubs in the championship, having both revealed their desire to grace the league once again before calling time on their playing careers.

Muntari, who has had training stints with 20-time champions Hearts of Oak has been linked to the club while Gyan has been linked to 24-time champions Asante Kotoko.

According to Laryea Kingson who made a return to the Ghana Premier League during the twilight of his career, says he will be happy to see the duo playing in Ghana Premer League again.

“I think they [Muntari and Gyan] coming into the league will be a huge boost. They have achieved a lot in Europe. I think that everyone would want to come and watch them play in the league. For me I will be very happy if they come,” Laryea Kington told Joy FM.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak board member has revealed that the club have reserved a jersey for Ghana international midfielder Sulley Muntari.

He said he will be very happy if his club secure the signature of the former Inter and AC Milan midfielder.

“For the past 2yrs, we’ve told him we’ve reserved a jersey for him. Anytime he’s ready to play, he knows what to do” he told Angel FM.

Muntari has been without a club after ending his stay with Spanish lower tier side Albacete.

Asamoah Gyan on the other hand has also reiterated his desire to end his footballing career at Asante Kotoko.

“I’ve supported Kumasi Asante Kotoko since I was a kid, till now. I even said to myself that I had to play for Kotoko, but I didn’t have the chance to play before travelling outside,” he told TV3 Sports.

“I have said that I have to wear the red shirt before I call it a day. I want to finish my career at Kumasi Asante Kotoko.”
