Harry Kane’s return and goal were not enough to help Tottenham Hotspur avoid a 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor against Burnley.
Chris Wood’s header in the 57th minute from a Dwight McNeil’s corner opened the score for the home side before Kane equaled for the third-placed Spurs in the 65th minute.
Wood has scored six goals in his last eight Premier League appearances, including netting four in his last four.
The England captain was making his return from an injury that sidelined him from January 13th. Kane has scored more away goals at Turf Moor in the Premier League than any other visiting player.
Ashley Barnes scored the second for the Clarets seven minutes to the end of regulation time to stretch their unbeaten run to eight games now.
Barnes has now scored four goals in each of his last four Premier League games after netting in just three of his previous 24 in the competition.
Spurs stay in third place, five points behind Liverpool who face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday and Manchester City who will play in the Carabao Cup on the same day against Chelsea. Burnley rise to 13th and are now six points clear of the relegation places.
