Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Edward Odoom has said the technical team is working hard in training to fix the leakages that occurred in the team’s defence in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) game against AshantiGold.
The Phobians were forced into an eventual 2-2 draw by the Miners at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday night. The visitors had to twice come from behind to draw level as they shared spoils.
Some observers of the league have raised concerns about the team’s defence, especially how Hearts lost concentration in the last minute of the game allowing the Miners to score and snatch a point.
When asked about his defence at the post-match press conference, Coach Odoom admitted that it was a momentary loss of concentration at the back that allowed AshGold to score the late equalizer and that, this will be addressed.
“We had an excellent preseason campaign and, we worked on so many areas of our game”, he later told Hearts Media.
The gaffer said, it will be addressed at training and was positive that the system will bounce back to normalcy going into the upcoming games.
“It was a very painful way to concede with virtually the last kick of the game and, we will work on this to correct the situation”, Coach Odoom added.
Hearts of Oak will play their next GPL game – a Matchday three encounter away to Inter Allies in a capital derby to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.
