Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey has spoken for the first time since being called up to CK Akonnor’s Black Stars squad.
The defender has been handed his debut call up by coach CK Akonnor for the Black Stars AFCON 2021 qualifying match against Sudan.
Nettey becomes the latest player to receive a call-up after Prince Adu Kwabena, Majeed Ashimeru, Joseph Attamah Larweh and Afriyie Acquah
Speaking in an interview, the 22-year-old expressed his delight after being drafted into the Senior national team.
“It’s a dream come true, I am so excited for my call-up,” told Myfabulousonline.com
“I have come this far as a result of hard work and dedication and I am going there to do same to cement a place in the team, I am ready to learn from my seniors and implement on the field when given the nod.”
“I will continue to work hard to make everyone who has been supporting me since the beginning of my career proud.”
Ghana will on Thursday, November 12, 2020 take on Sudan in the first of a doubleheader tie at the Cape Coast stadium, before travelling to Khartoum, five days later for the reverse fixture.
Coach CK Akonnor is seeking to continue with the teams flying start to the qualifiers following victories against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in November 2019.
