Ghana Women’s League champions Hasaacas Ladies have arrived in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire for the WAFU Zone B CAF Champions League qualifiers.
Hasaacas Ladies who are representing the country in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League will this evening train at the Stade Champroux ahead of tomorrow’s encounter.
Coach Yussif Basigi’s side will kick start their CAF champions league, WAFU Zone B Cup qualifying stage on Saturday, July 24 against Nigeria’s River Angels at 7:00 pm before the Ghanaian champions who are housed in Group B – will later take on AS Police de Niamey from Niger.
Hasaacas Ladies have been drawn in Group B of the zonal competition, alongside Nigerian Champions River Angels and AS Police of Niger.
The winners of the Zone will travel to Egypt for the main tournament later this year.
Meanwhile, CEO of Hasaacas Ladies Evelyn Nsiah Asare further vowed that her outfit will make Ghana proud at the tournament.
“We are determined to make Ghana proud at the tournament,” Nsiah Asare, who is a member of Asante Kotoko management told Asempa FM.
“We were strong in the Women’s League and we will improve on that before the start of the tournament.
“We have made some few signings and with their addition to the team, we will surely leave a mark.
“This is the maiden edition of the tournament but with the support we have received from Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, individuals and other bodies, we will surely make Ghana proud,” she added.
