Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ coach, Ben Owu is happy with the options available to the club going into next season and believes that could be the triumph card for the Phobians to wrestle the league title.
The club has four goalkeepers and all have been training fully in the ongoing preseason programme as the team shapes up for the start of the 2020/21 Ghana football season.
And Coach Owu who has the audios task of making them ready for the new campaign believes he has four of the best goalkeepers in the country at the moment and that Hearts will not fall short in that department when the season begins.
“We have Richard Attah who is a Black Stars material, Richmond Ayi who was with the national U-23 team, Benjamin Mensah who has lots of experience behind him and young Richard Baidoo who is developing very fast”, he told Hearts News.
“I have told them that the task of earning the number one position is huge and comes with a lot of hard work and determination and, I am expecting them to rise up to the challenge”.
“Attah was my number one last season and it showed as he earned a callup to the senior national team, the Black Stars and, I am happy with his output so far in the preseason just as I have been with the other three”.
With the new season set to start in less than a month, the battle to become Hears of Oak number one will be intense as all four goalkeepers have given strong indications that they will be ready when called to man the post.
Hearts of Oak will begin the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign with an away encounter against Aduana Stars at Dormaa Ahenkro when the season kicks off on the weekend of November 13-15, 2020.
