Abdul Baba Rahman is hoping to secure Premier League promotion with Championship side, Reading FC.
The former Asante Kotoko left back has joined the Royals on a season-long loan deal after extending his contract with European champions, Chelsea.
The loan spell will be Rahman’s 5th since he joined Chelsea in 2015 but it will be the first time that he will be spending a loan period in England.
“I’m very happy to finally be here,” Baba told the official club website. “There has been a bit of back and forth, but I’m excited to be here now.
“My agent mentioned the interest to me; I know Reading from over the years, and it’s a big club with a great history. So I was delighted.
“This league is really competitive. When I spoke with the manager about the project that is coming on, I was really interested. That’s the main reason why I’m here.
He added, “I’m really hoping to get going quickly and I can’t wait to start playing.”
“I want to achieve promotion because this club needs to get back to where it belongs”
Baba Rahman joins fellow Black Stars player, Andy Yiadom, at the Championship club.
Rahman spent last season on loan PAOK, where he made 17 appearances and scored one goal.
He has previously featured for Schalke, Reims, and Real Mallorca.
