AshantiGold have secured a place in the Semifinals of the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup after a 4-2 win over Kintampo Top Talent.
The Miners headed into the game knowing they are under investigation for an alleged match-fixing scandal, but played with so much confidence and easily beat the lower-tier side to reach the semi-finals of the cup competition, which remains their only hope of silverware this season.
Ashantigold broke the deadlock of the game defender Patrick Akoto connected from a cross to give his side the lead.
Opoku Agyemang doubled the Miners lead on the 28th minute before the visitors pulled one back in the 35th minute through an own goal from Kwadwo Amoako.
AshantiGold three minutes after the recess restored their two goal lead through Paul Asare
Amos Addai made it 4-1 for the Miners. However, Top Talent managed to put the ball in the net themselves in the 90th minute courtesy of Prince Kofi Sarkodie.
AshantiGold will find out their semi-final opponent on Sunday after Asante Kotoko’s clash with Berekum Chelsea.
