The Technical Sub-Committee of the 13th African Games has toured the construction sites of the facilities for the 13th African Games – Accra 2023.
The Technical Committee, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, first arrived at the Borteyman site to inspect the progress of work on the multi-sport facility.
Contracta, the construction company in charge of the project, presented to the Technical Sub-Committee, a 3D conceptual design of the facilities under construction and also took the team through the progress of work.
After the committee satisfied itself with the progress of work done so, they then proceeded to the University of Ghana facility to ascertain the progress of work. The team inspected the under-construction competition tracks, warm-up tracks, VIP and VVIP area, rugby field, and the games’ village.
The Committee was impressed with the speed of work at the various construction sites and assured the various contractors the assistance of the Technical Sub-Committee during the technical markings of the various facilities.
The 13th edition of the Africa Games, formerly known as the All African Games would involve 54 participating countries and 25 sporting disciplines.
The African Games is a multi-sport event held every four years with the competing nations coming from the African continent.
The 2023 African Games will also serve as qualifiers for the various disciplines for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
