President Akufo-Addo says his government delivered most of their 2016 campaign promises despite challenges that confronted them.
President Akufo-Addo delivering the State of the Nation Address on March 9, 2021 said that was the more reason the NPP won the 2020 general elections.
The President says having been given the mandate, he is determined to ensure he does more to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
“We were able to deliver on most of our 2016 promises, in spite of the considerable challenges we confronted and setbacks we encountered. We were confident our record in office will put us in good stead before the electorate. The reason the Ghanaian people went to the polls on 7th December, i.e to seek an improvement in their living standards and rapid transformation of the economy must continue in earnest. It means the clarion call of 4 more 4 Nana and the NPP to do more for you must be realized and I intend to do so”
The SONA is a constitutional obligation as stipulated in Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which says: “the President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before a dissolution of Parliament, deliver to Parliament a message on the state of the nation.”
