The flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being corrupt.

NDCMr Mahama who is on tour in the Upper East Region says it is clear President Akufo-Addo is ‘bathing’ in corruption.

Mahama said when he was in office the NPP then in opposition tagged them as corrupt with every given opportunity.

NDC writes to Dampare for update on probe into 2020 election violence

“All you see is corruption, at the time we were in office they tarred us with the brush of corruption and made so much noise about it, today the President is bathing in corruption and I say that the allegations of corruptions are people close to him. You can be President a CEO will be involved in corruption that you may not be aware but when you become aware you must take an action. Take cases like PDS and you hear his brother and cousin discussing how to distribute and share monies then came Agyapa and everybody involved in Agyapa is close to the President and the office of the President has released a damning report”

The NPP government have been hit with some scandals, like the PDS deal and recently the Agyapa deal which has led to the resignation of Martin Amidu as the Special Prosecutor.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo reacting to Martin Amidu’s resignation said he decided without legal basis not to investigate John Mahama over the Airbus scandal.

According to the Presidency, after Martin Amidu identified the former President as Government Official One in the infamous Airbus scandal, an untenable ground was given by the then Special Prosecutor as to why the former President could not be investigated and prosecuted.

Among other things, Mr. Amidu had explained that John Mahama was the flagbearer of the largest opposition party in the country in the 2020 elections hence his decision to hold off interrogating the former head of state.
