National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Sammy Awuku says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if voted for again will focus on modernizing agriculture.
Agriculture contributes to 54 % of Ghana’s GDP and accounts for over 40 % of export earnings.
Sammy Awuku speaking at the NPP’s manifesto launch says the NPP is focused on modernizing agriculture to a level not seen in Ghana before.
“The Covid-19 has led to many countries experiencing food shortages and led to the dangers of importing food from abroad. Here in Ghana, we are blessed with bounty, a sign of God’s divine favour on Akufo-Addo’s government. This crisis gives us an opportunity to beef ourselves. God willing in the next 4 years we will modernize agriculture, support farmers and increase disease control, enhance the production of ruminants, continue the greenhouse project and give farmers access to finance.”
The NPP manifesto launch is been held at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region.
The Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia and other experts drafted the 2020 manifesto.
The NPP is hopeful that the policies outlined in the manifesto will make Ghanaians retain the Akufo-Addo administration in office for another four years.
The event is been projected virtually for members of the party and the general public to watch.
This is a deviation from the usual outdoor event where thousands of supporters of the party attend.
The restriction of the number of attendees is in line with the observance of strict COVID-19 safety protocol.
