Supporters of Alban Bagbin are hopeful their candidate will emerge victorious in the flagbearer race ahead of the 2020 elections.

Supporters of the second deputy speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin at the party headquarters for the vetting are hopeful that their candidate will sail through the process.

The supporters in an interview with citinews monitored by PrimeNewsGhana expressed their optimism of Bagbin winning the race.

According to a supporter,”Hon Bagbin is the perfect candidate for the flagbearship. He is the longest-serving Member of Parliament, the one who has held the party on his shoulders high since 2001. This shows that this is somebody who has done very well for the party, this is someone who is willing and has done it before.”

”By the close of the day, he will be declared as we know to go ahead and contest. He is going to emerge victoriously. Everybody knows that Alban Bagbin is one person who wants to bring a change to the NDC and will move Ghana forward”.Another supporter emphasized.

Meanwhile, addressing the media, Alban Bagbin expressed confidence in the party’s process having completed the vetting.

”The issues they asked of me are issues about my capacity, my care for the people. These are basic elements of leadership and those were the areas they focused. If I talk about transforming Ghana what are the policy proposals I will make in order to transform Ghana, if I talk about building strong parties, parties that are vehicles for good governance how am I going to do that, those are the areas they asked me.”

However, candidates to be vetted today includes Professor Joshua Alabi, John Dramani Mahama, Sylvester Mensah, Goosie Tanoh and Spio Garbrah.
