Rhoda Osei-Afful, Research Officer with the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) says some incidents that occurred during the election day did not affect the outcome.
John Mahama and the NDC have made it clear they will not accept the results of the 2020 presidential elections which saw President Akufo-Addo re-elected.
Mrs Osei Afful speaking on Joy FM’s Newsfile said there were some incidents like snatching of ballot box, chaos among others recorded in some polling stations but that did not impact the outcome that saw President Akufo-Addo re-elected as President.
“As far as the voting was concerned, there were incidents and our observers captured them but it didn’t impact the outcome of the election,” she said on Joy FM’s Newsfile
CODEO ealier said its collated results in the just ended election is consistent with that of the Electoral Commission (EC).
CODEO made this known in a detailed report about the election.
CODEO employed the Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) methodology to observe the 2020 presidential election, just as it did in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
The PVT methodology is a reliable tool available to independent and non-partisan citizens’ election observer groups around the world for verifying the accuracy of official presidential elections results.
