Managing Director of the Ghana Publishing Company Limited, David Asante has described the comment of the NDC Deputy General Secretary, Peter Otukunor that the state printing firm could sabotage the upcoming NDC flagbearer elections if the party employs the services of the firm, as divisive.

According to David Asante, questioning the credibility of the printing firm is uncalled for, divisive and must be condemned.

Peter Otukunor responding to a petition from some six flagbearer aspirants, calling on the party to employ the services of the state printing firm, said the firm is headed by a known NPP activist and he could sabotage the upcoming NDC flagbearer elections if the contract to print ballot papers is awarded to the firm.

In an interview with citinews monitored by PrimeNewsGhana, Managing director of Ghana Publishing Company said:

“If it’s the flagbearers part to express their desire make a lot of sense to the party to give the printing work to the state-owned printing company Ghana publishing, we think there is a lot of wisdom in the position the men have taken. We think the deputy general secretary’s statement is uncalled for, divisive and must be condemned, and he must come again.”

He stated that”The company was heavily indebted, as at now we have cleared all arrears, we have put the company on a proper level so the company can meet modern standard in printing and publishing. However, we will want to put it on records that the institution in the last years has not been politicized”.

”We are officially inviting the leadership of the NDC to come and take a tour through the company and compare it to how they left it two(2) years ago. We are not calling for an apology we are inviting them to come and take a tour and appreciate what the potential flagbearers are calling for,” he emphasized.
