The committee set up by the Electoral Commission, EC to scrutinize the nomination forms submitted by the political parties and independent candidates will submit their report on Monday.
This was made known by the EC boss Jean Mensa.
According to her, after they submit their report the EC will set a date to brief the nation on the outcome of the report.
“As noted in our earlier meetings, the teams are working around the clock to complete their review and scrutiny of all nomination forms and will present to the commission the full report on Monday.”
“We will thereafter make a date to inform the political parties who have qualified and to provide you with a brief outcome of the review process.”
The filing of nominations ended on Friday.
The aspirants who have filed their forms include flagbearers of nine political parties and three independent aspirants.
The political parties are the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ghana Union Movement (GUM), New Patriotic Party (NPP) All People’s Congress (APC), Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), National Democratic Party (NDP) and Progressive People’s Party (PPP).
Alfred Kwame Walker partnered by Jacob Osei Yeboah, Kofi Koranteng in partnership with Karl Morgan, and Dr. Ofosu Baako, led by Marricke Kofi Gane, are so far the nominated independent aspirants.
Many opposed the filing fee for the presidential candidates but many have filed.
The EC pegged the filing fee for presidential candidates at GHS100,000 and GHS10,000 for parliamentary candidates.
