Zoomlion entreats Muslims to be more sanitation concious

Mr Adams Mohammed Mahama, a communications Officer at Zoomlion Ghana Limited has entreated Muslims to be more sanitation conscious.

Mr Mahama, urged them to be concern about cleanliness in their homes and environs, adding that it is high time people who live in the Zongos break the jinx that they are akin to filth.

He made the call at this year’s Mawulidi festival at Accra New Town in the Greater Accra Region.

Mawulidi is an Islamic festival celebrated to mark the birth of the Holy Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Anabi Mohammed (SAW).

Mr Mahama said, “there is no difference between the people who live in Zongos and those who live in Estates, therefore, those in Zongos can make their environment as clean as the Estates”.

He also urged all households in the area to register with the assembly under the one million bin project to receive waste bins to store waste for onwards collection by Zoomlion.

According to him, Zoomlion is liaising with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly, Mr Aminu Zakari (MZ) to pilot the project in the area.

“This means Hon. MZ’s Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly is the first to receive part of the one million waste bins”.

Mr. Mahama assured the residents that there was no need to worry as the many compound houses will be given the number of bins required by the households in that compound.

He said the company has secured a loan facility from Ecobank Ltd to produce the one million high-quality bins through its subsidiary Universal Plastics Product and Recycling Ltd (UPPR) for distribution.

Mr. Mahama made a cash donation of five thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢5,000.00) to support the programme on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Mr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong.

The donation was presented to Mr Zakari on behalf of the people.

For his part, the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso North Constituency, Mr Yussif Issaka Jaja commended Mr Siaw Agyepong for his passion for the well-being of humanity.

He said Mr Agyepong’s passion for not only the health of Ghanaians but also in their religious and social lifestyles is worth commendation.
