Minister for Communication and MP for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu has shutdown the MTN office at Dansoman Zodiac.
The Minister said the service centre was not adhering to the Covid-19 safety protocols.
In a Facebook post, the Minister said “This is the scene at the MTN office at Dansoman Zodiac right now. Absolutely no respect for social distancing. They have been shut down and will not be allowed to operate until they have better arrangements in place. A reputable corporate organization like this should not be flouting the law and creating conditions for the virus to spread.”
Speaking to the issue, the Corporate Affairs officer at MTN Samuel Koranteng said the company has done a risk assessment of the situation.
“We were alerted by the Minister herself and we have taken immediate measures to rectify the situation and to conduct a risk assessment of that particular of that particular shop.”
He stated that additional security will be provided to help enforce safety protocols.
