A second-year student of the Ejisu Technical School has been hospitalised after drinking liquid soap in what is believed to be attempted suicide.
This was after an assistant headmaster of the school locked him and his colleague overnight in his office for stealing the school’s electric stabiliser.
Shout from his colleagues in the morning drew the attention of teachers who found him.
He is currently receiving treatment at the Ejisu Government Hospital.
Reports indicate that a taxi driver spotted the two students in the evening trying to scale over the school wall with a hidden item, he arrested and handed them over to the assistant headmaster who retrieved the stolen stabiliser.
Kofi Appiah said he asked the students to strip naked to their underwear and locked them up in his office until the next day.
“They were not trying to tell me the truth, it was in the night and school management and teachers were not around and I didn’t want to take any decision outside them so I decided to keep them in the office so that the following day when the other teachers come we sit on the matter, unfortunately, there is this liquid soap there and I don’t know what happened and one of the students took it, the other guy is in police custody and this one is in the hospital.”
