Waste Management giants, Zoomlion Ghana Limited in partnership with the Government of Ghana and the ministry of Sanitation will be constructing the solid waste facilities across the 16 regions in the country.

Okokodrofour Nana Boakye Dankwa chief of Fawohoyeden in the Ahafo Region on his part eulogized the President and the Jospong Group.

“I saw the sanitation issue of our land and that’s why I gave this land to the Jospong Group and the President. Creating fertilisers from this final product will be great for the farmers in the community because most of the people in the community are farmers. It will also create jobs for the youth in the area. 50 acres of land has been released for the project to commence.”

Nana Wireko Apem II, Krotinhene of Kumuom on behalf on the Omanhene of Kukuom Traditional area Osahene Kwaku Atakyi revealed that ‘this place has been a dumpsite for so many years so we thought the land was going waste.”

“My appeal is they should think about employing the residents here before looking else where”.

“I will also appeal to pay compensation to the affected and owners and I will urge everyone to accept the Facility in good faith, he added.

Nana Kwasi Bosomprah I, Omanhene of Goaso with other traditional leaders graced the occasion.

Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong in his brief address had this to say: “It is the vision of the President to make Ghana clean.
It is the turn of Ahafo Region to benefit from the solid waste treatment facility.’

The Facility will serve Bechem, Duayaw Nkwanta, Tepa, Goaso, Nkaseim, and other surrounding communities in the Ahafo region.

Sanitation Minister, Cecelia Abena Dapaah in her remarks commended the opinion leaders in the Ahafo Region for their efforts in making the vision of the President come to pass.

30,000 tonnes of waste generated every day will be processed when the facility is ready. It is first on it’s kind in the Ahafo Region.

She commended the Jospong Group and the environmental services union for their selfless input.

On his part, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said this is a promise he had made to the people of Ahafo Region.

“I promised Nananom of Ahafo Region anything coming from the government, the region will benefit.

“Private companies will be endorsed by my government if only they will deliver.
