The Ghana Police Service has issued a fraud alert at public health facilities in Accra.
A statement from the service said “The Accra Regional Police Command wishes to alert the general public of recent activities of fraudsters who use the premises of public facilities, particularly Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for vehicle-related crimes.
Recent reports indicate that criminals dishonesty advertise vehicles for sale via the internet and lure interested buyers from all parts of the country to these facilities to dupe them.
As a way to win the confidence and divert the attention of prospective buyers, these swindlers mostly pose as health practitioners working from the facility or persons going to seek medical treatment. At the facility, transactions are concluded and victims swindled under the pretext of selling vehicles to them.
