Tema branch of the Young Men Christian Association of Ghana (YMCA) together with their partners CVJM Hulscheid Heefield from Germany have supported the fight against COVID-19 by donating some items to residents of Tema Community 11.
COVID-19 has affected the lives of many Ghanaians and the group has lent a helping hand to the people of Community 11.

They donated items such as branded YMCA nose masks, hand sanitizers, veronica buckets, tissue papers, liquid soap and food items to people of Tema.
Some of the food items consisted of rice, gari and sugar.

The beneficiaries of this benevolent act included the Tema Community 11 Police Station, Washing Bay, the needy as well as an orphanage in the community.

Branch chairman of Tema YMCA Eric Asante popularly known as Zion speaking to the media after the donation said the country is in a state of difficulty and that was their own way of easing the burden on the people of Tema Community 11.
He further stated that they gave out the items to help protect the people from contracting the deadly coronavirus.

The group say they are not done with their donations as their next destination will be Sebrepor near Michel Camp.

They will visit the community on June 6, 2020, where they will collaborate with a Youth centre in the community to help facilitate the donation.

Mr Asante assured that Tema YMCA will do everything within their power to ensure they support the needy and vulnerable in their own way in these times of pandemic.
