Tema branch of the Young Men Christian Association of Ghana (YMCA)together with their partners CVJM Hulscheid Heefield from Germany have donated some items to residents of Sebrepor at Michel Camp.

This donation is the second the group has done after donating to Tema Community 11 residents and it all forms part of their efforts to support the fight against COVID-19.

COVID-19 has affected the lives of many Ghanaians and the group has lent a helping hand to the people of Sebrepor.


They donated items such as branded YMCA nose masks, hand sanitizers, veronica buckets, tissue papers, liquid soap and food items to people of Tema.

Some of the food items consisted of rice, gari and sugar.

The beneficiaries of this benevolent act were the people of Sebrepor specifically the Police Station, the Taxi Rank and the Kiosk Estate.
Branch chairman of Tema YMCA Eric Asante popularly known as Zion speaking to the media after the donation said the country is a state of difficulty and that was their own way of easing the burden on the people of Sebrepor.
He further stated that the group will take time to reflect and come out with new ideas to plan for the months ahead on what to do next in terms of donations since they have vowed to help the vulnerable in these difficult times.

He added that they have plans to come up with programmes at the YMCA Youth Center at Sebrepor to educate the people in the communinity on how to keep safe from the pandemic and some activities that will keep the youth at the center after the Covid-19 pandemic ends.
Mr Asante assured that Tema YMCA will do everything within their power to ensure they support the needy and vulnerable in their own way in these times of pandemic.
