The National Peace Council has given their verdict on the just ended voters registration exercise.
The Peace Council in a release commended the Electoral Commission for the exercise and says it was generally a successful one.
They describe the exercise as ‘peaceful’ as they say they keenly monitored the process in most of the registration centres.
They also praised the EC for providing logistics required for the exercise and went on to laud the EC for their ‘Let the Citizen Know’ platform which provides constant updates to the Ghanaian populace.
They say this platform has contributed to improve credibility and provide timely information to the public.
They, however, said they are not oblivious of some violence that was recorded at some registration centres.
They called on the police to act swiftly and investigate this violence and update the public on the status of those investigations.
