The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwifery Council (GRNMC) says they will deal appropriately with a lady captured on video twerking in a nurse uniform.
David Tenkorang Twum the General Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwifery Association says nursing is a noble profession and says they will deal with the lady if found.
“We think this is not appropriate and we condemn the act, this is a very noble profession and professionals should not portray such character. We have started procedures within our Association, we have an Ad-hoc Disciplinary Committee and if we are able to get hold of that person she will appear before the disciplinary committee and based on what comes out she will face the full rigorous of the law. She will also face the DC of the regulator and an appropriate punishment will be given”.
The GRNMC in a statement on May 15, 2020 said twerking in a professional uniform is “unacceptable conduct and a disgrace to our noble profession”.
The Council is calling on the public to assist them to identify the nurse. It said anyone with information can contact GRNMC public relations officers.
In a video which has gone viral, the middle-aged woman in a green nursing uniform is seen shaking her backside as she is cheered on by some friends.
