The 11th congregation of the Ghana Institute of Journalism for students who completed their degree and diploma programs in the 2016/2017 academic years has been postponed indefinitely.

A notice on the school campus from the registrar said the event which was to come off on Friday 22nd September 2017 has been moved to a date to be announced later.

This is the third time the congregation has been postponed. The initial date was the 8th of Sept, followed by a shift to 16th and then finally 22nd of September.

No reason was assigned for the move and it is unclear if it has anything to do with the swearing in of a new governing council after months of delay.

The postponement comes days after Rector Dr Wilberforce Dzisah assured the event will come off as scheduled on the 22nd of September

The postponement comes days after the Rector of the school, Dr. Wilberforce Dzisah in an interview with Primenewsghana assured the event will come off as scheduled, with or without a governing council.

Many students who have been preparing for the graduation by paying an amount of 300 cedis for their certificates and gowns, tell primenewsghana they are extremely frustrated with the turn of events, especially when it comes just days to the program.

They have questioned the competency of the school administration and are calling for the immediate release of a new date for the graduation.
